Net Nessie

Net Nessie

A Poem by Scott H.
"

An ode of sorts to the Loch Ness Monster

"

“Net Nessie”

They want to net Nessie,

Pull her from the lake –

To prove that she’s real,

That she isn’t fake.

They trawl with their sonar

From dusk until dawn

But they never find Nessie –

It’s like she’s just gone.

Then a child will see something,

A tourist will gawk

As Nessie’s head rises

Up over a rock.

Perhaps there are some things

We’re not meant to know –

It would spoil the magic,

Would ruin the show.

I hope they don’t find her

In that Scottish lake –

For if they net Nessie

It would be a mistake.

Let Nessie be, and let our imaginations always wonder. Love this poem... reminds me of the times I wondered of Nessie as well as Big Foot. I believe; why not? ;~)

Oh i so agree..let's leave ourselves with a bit of wonder and magic. I love the meter and rhyme of this poem!
