"Prayer For Spring"

This is my prayer for Spring

My wish for green and growing things

For joy to come to life again

Where only sorrow and woe have been

I eagerly await the rains

To cleanse my tattered heart again

To walk barefoot on the green grass

Laughing as the doldrums pass

Springtime, Springtime please come soon

Fill your evenings with the moon

Leave me sitting here at home

Without a sign of troubled tone

This is my prayer for Spring

My wish for green and growing things

When Winter long and cold has been

I want to be renewed again

Oh Eostre hear me where you lay

And turn the fields to green from gray

Let the birds in branches sing

All echoing my prayer for Spring

The style is different from your more current pieces, more constrained but it still has the same touch of gentle adoration for the world, the last stanza catches me.
