And Still It Falls

And Still It Falls

A Poem by Scott H.
"

And winter came...

"

"And Still It Falls"

And still it falls,

A fine white curtain from the sky

Blanketing the ground in a wintery sheen.

The people look from their windows

At the drifts below.

And still it falls,

The answer to youth's lost prayers

Of snow days and sled rides and iceskates,

The adults remembering fondly

Those days from their pasts.

And still it falls,

An innocent beauty about it,

Bringing with it thoughts of wonder,

Thoughts of togetherness, loved ones

And of fireside romance.

And still it falls,

Blowing sideways from the sky

Across a landscape of frozen dreams

Only rekindled by the warmth of touch and

Thoughts of spring.

And still it falls.
