All I Want (For Christmas)A Poem by Scott H.I don't think this is asking too much..."All I Want (For Christmas)"
Presents and reindeer are inconsequential, Decorated trees and blue lamps nice but My world would continue without them, Of silent nights and wintry wonderlands I have more than had my fill.
All I want for Christmas is A sky that's filled with stars - One for every dream I've ever had That since has left and found its place Amongst the constellations, A bright and flickering map to follow Through the uncertainty of life.
All I want for Christmas is A sky that's filled with stars, A place where I belong - Where the drum that I am marching to Is not dissonant and out of time But rather in perfect synchronicity With an orchestra of outlandishness And likeminded convictions.
All I want for Christmas is A sky that's filled with stars, A place where I belong, A promise for tomorrow - That through the hurt and rain of fire Something beautiful awaits me, Beyond this dark and choppy sea A land of festive opportunities More infinite than time.
All I want for Christmas is A sky that's filled with stars, A place where I belong, A promise for tomorrow, Someone who understands me - Sees past my many inconsistencies And flaunted insecurities While bringing out the best in me, Accepts me just for who I am The muse, the mess and all.
