Do Not Take My Wings Yet

Do Not Take My Wings Yet

A Poem by Scott H.
"

A minor fugue to hypochondria. A spiritual person of a differing vein, so this piece is somewhat of a departure for me.

"

“Do Not Take My Wings Yet”

Do not take my wings yet,

Don’t let them scatter to the floor.

The sky still has not opened up,

Been given me to soar.

Do not take my wings yet

Before they’ve feathered to their full,

Are strong enough to lift me

O’er the river and the hill.

Do not take my wings yet

‘Til I have flown into the sun.

Do not take my wings yet

‘Ere my life has just begun.
