Queen and Crown

Queen and Crown

A Poem by Scott H.
"

A mere spattering together of the places I've been, and the one I haven't

"

"Queen and Crown"

Had I been but born

A bonny English lad -

Regale you with songs

Of queen and crown,

Or on the rondvaart

Of fabled Amsterdam -

I would get too high

To come back down.

'Cross the western plains

Where the coyotes howl -

North to Canada

And Quebeçois,

N'awlins voodoo child

Before the storm reclaimed -

Felt the geysers spout

In Yellowstone;

Thirty-four long years

I've wandered aimlessly -

Never have I found

My one true home.
