Widdershins

Widdershins

A Poem by Scott H.
"

A midsummer night's dream

"

“Widdershins”

Midsummer’s eve
Get lost with me,
E’er we go wandering
Thru the Green

To seek the place
Where branches grow
And waystones keep
A circular row

Then we must whisper
Moonspun chants,
And counterclockwise
We must dance

Midsummer’s eve
Our flight begins,
Whisked away to
Widdershins

You should get points merely for using the word "widdershins." You have great word choice - no cluttering words - everything in it's place to create a strong image with rhythm as well as prose. This is great - I felt like I was skipping along to Elfland, closer in each stanza, without you forcing it. You lead the reader along instead of pushing... adds to the mystery of the journey.

i love the word widdershins! and this poem is perfect. simple and magical with a nice rythymn, you can imagine children skipping around to it. you know, right before they get stolen away by fairies or something...
