Ode to a Ho

Ode to a Ho

A Poem by Scott H.
"

An unconventional ode about an unconventional woman I happened to spy while at my cousin's wedding in Hamburg, Germany

"

"Ode to a Ho"

Saw you from the back seat

Driving down by the wharfs

In Hamburg,

At about 9:30 at night,

Not knowing for whom you waited,

The sailors and fishermen long gone

But you waiting there anyway.

A certain envy to you

In your leopardskin leather

(How Debbie would be jealous!)

And chest thrust skywards

In a strange defiance

Of what?

This is not known

But is pondered severely

As the car moves past and on

And winds its way downtown,

Stops at the light

Next to the car full of boys,

The one int he back seat (like me)

In white tee and cropped hair

With the rugged curves of his arms

Bulging and rolling like

A well-sloping hill of delight -

A remembrance of you is stirred

And at that moment,

A longing to be you.
