Alone

Alone

A Poem by Scott H.
"

In all the universe, we can't be

"

“Alone”

I can’t believe that

You aren’t out there

Somewhere –

Maybe looking out at

Different stars and sky

Than I am,

But looking nonetheless,

Wondering –

Amongst all of these

Collections of stardust

And vapor trails,

How can it be that

This little blue orb –

Or green, or purple,

Or foxes’ coats shifting

Red at winter’s onset,

Or a myriad other colors

I have no name for –

It can’t be the only one with

All this life teeming,

So much so that it

Threatens to overflow

And self-destruct.

On nights like these

Both crisp and clear

I turn my eyes skyward

And find it comforting

To think that no matter

Where in the deep black

Or vast emptiness

We might find ourselves

We aren’t truly

Alone.

I believe that we are not alone too.

Thanks for posting to the group. It's terrific.

=)). I found this very comforting and it makes me want to go outside and watch the stars all night. I really like your descriptions. The last three lines are my favorite. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
