![]() Jealous of CopernicusA Poem by Scott H.![]() I wish I was Yuri G.![]()
“Jealous of Copernicus” I cannot abide the sunshine Instead living for the night When I can take my gaze at you, Beautiful and mystifying As you float there in the sky Making your way around the earth Captivating the hearts of Greater men and minds than me, But here I am sitting anyway Gazing out my window at the day Matching every eager heartbeat To the ticking hands of the clock, Each one brings me ever closer to When you’ll ascend in grace That shiny stair of stars that leads To where you fascinate me, Ethereal and wreathed in clouds That wrap themselves around you Too familiarly for my liking For I am down here on the ground Jealous of Copernicus and Those who’ve touched your face. © 2008 Scott H.Featured Review
