mental alchemy

mental alchemy

A Poem by Kristen

I died in the details of today.
My mind could not give birth
to tomorrow's potential.
Your words drifted to my ears,
expanded my awareness,
contracted my fears.
A pregnant pause -
I named her Hope.

title intrigues, though not as much as Cory The Cop...but it got me in. The first line i think is great. I don't need any more than that. I quite like the outcome of the pregnant pause, but not as much as the first line which will stick with me awhile.

Always worth pausing for "hope".
"My mind could not give birth
to tomorrow's potential. "
I love that line...cleverly constructed and enjoyed this poem. Julian :)
