forgetting

forgetting

A Poem by E

i've forgotten the word
the phrase
or name
it's crawled from my mind
and slyly
so quietly
dissolved
before i could even miss it.

such a sin,
to forget,
to no longer know
what you once held sacred
to lose what was yours
and no longer hold tight
the perfection of your soul

in time it will happen
the words
the memories
all our loves and joys
the people we knew
the songs we sang
they will slowly crawl away
and leave our mind
for better places
they will no longer find need
as we slowly stop calling them
and they will eventually
seek out new homes

so why have i forgotten that word?
why does my song
no longer come quickly to my lips
as often as it had
when i was younger?
i have not used it as i had
i did not love it as once before
so give us a new one
new song
new delight
in order for me
to cherish it, true

i think its more about what youre saying, your life is different, dont become dusted and dull by anything, dont forget to be soft or hard or whatever your fancy, trust in yourself, to be able to be vibrant to the world and still hold tight to your love. Dont forget to be sexy and alive.
dont forget.

and free. It is well written with good insight. It needs just a little extra rhythm at the end. Thanks
