Nature Haiku

Nature Haiku

A Poem by piper

A fallen petal

Floats upon a breath of wind

To rest among thorns

The first blush of dawn

Rises on a maiden’s cheek

To greet the new day

The wood duck swims by

Followed by her downy chicks

Swirling in her wake

Five red birds singing

Their symphony greets the dawn

And wakes the forest

A lone scarlet bloom

Floats amid a field of green

Like a drop of blood

Lying on the ground

A single feather is stirred

By a passing breeze

Hope floats among clouds

Billowing above the trees

Blows away like mist

A restless walker

Strides beneath clouds of blossoms

Never looking up

Perfume fills the air

Hides the scent of predators

Stalking in the bush
