Burnt and Blown AwayA Poem by piperA poem of desperationBurnt and Blown Away If I dwell upon my sadness or the reasons for it it grows like an ugly beast inside my heart It’s fire consumes me. Sears away bone and flesh until nothing remains ashes and dust swirl all around where I used to be blown away by hurricane force winds. I make feeble attempts to gather the pieces grasping with claws made of ash my soul eludes me. If only the thoughts would burn away too but they remain to torment me always.
