I love to write Haiku. The style is short, and can be very powerful.

Faith

 

Gather together

All my brothers and sisters

Pray for our nation

 

Darkness threatens us

We will shine our lights afar

We will hold it back

 

Smile on your children

Lord of all the earth and sky

Show us your glory

Love

Love never ending

Paint my heart across the sky

In colors of flames

 

 

Red gold and silver

Glitters in a diamond sky

Jewels of fire and ice

 

Fire of love burns bright

A comet crossing the sky

Leaves a trail of dust

Nature

Western sky sunset

Sun sinking below mountains

Behold majesty

 

Misty mountain tops

Clouds go swirling through the peaks

Playing hide and seek

 

Laughing brook dances

Through the rocky meadow land

Skipping down the slope

 

Proud eagle soars by

Winging over the river

Fish clutched in talons

 

Hungry babies’ squawk

Mother lands with fresh dinner

Flopping in the nest
