Rage

Rage

A Poem by Shawna

I hear your heart beat through my veins
Don't matter what you say-it's all the same
My mind is twisted into your face
You left me, but not for my sake
The bones inside me are turned to ash
You moved on far too fast
The words on my fingertips reach out to you
The taste of your skin still in the room
My tears are stained with your scent
You said the words but didn't know what they meant
Thought you were a saint
But yet your love is so faint
My shame won't let me go
Punish me-make sure I know
My careless hands I cannot escape
I have come to learn my fate
The sins I created led me here
Lost my will to care
Drowning in the silence
Dying just to make it
Love can't survive in my soul
I scared away all my control
Losing a game I cannot win
The devil lingers on my skin
I carry my hate under the table
Your discerning words are like a broken cradle
So hide your concern in your tone
Forever unleashed and forever gone
