Unaffected, Unafflicting, Jilted, F-ed Up Me

Unaffected, Unafflicting, Jilted, F-ed Up Me

A Poem by Megan Harris

Did we ever see it coming?
Jilted and hungry-full with our pseudo politico-religious ideologies...
They never even noticed it coming in...
and when it walked in
bare hoofed, wrinkled, alone, grunting...
You and I were laying sprawled out on the floor.
Hands touching, smiling,
Soaking up the rays of forsaken hilarity.
Laughing about nothing in particular...
Because nothing was important.

An interesting mix of apocalyptic imagery, anomie, and indifference. A good read, methinks.

Suggestion: I believe the word you want is "lying"--reclining--as opposed to "laying"--putting.

I look forward to reading more from you soon!
