This is the beginning/introduction to a story I would like to develop on-I would like to expand on this, but I would like some feedback to help me with inspiration and ideas. I would really appreciate anything you could tell me. Plot ideas, suggestions, a

Lauralei lies in the meadow today.
Watching the clouds drift away.
A sleepy smile alights on her face.
Life is a banquet, not a race.

But when her life is changed
everything will be rearranged.

Lauralei lives in the town by the lake.
She dances and sings for her own sake.
Radiating joy from her head to her toes.
Her real personality nobody knows.

But when the Special Ones have chosen
her talents will be unfrozen.

The Special Ones watch from afar.
Gazing as one would at a star.
While Lauralei dances, they all stare.
Her nightly dance is a great affair.

When they come to take her
they will never forsake her.

The Special Ones come in the night.
Under the cover of terror and fright.
They take poor Lauralei far away.
To live with them til her last day.

What will she do
when her life starts anew?

Lauralei awakens in a strange place
a curious look on her face.
This is not frightening as it may seem
in fact, it must be all a dream.

But when she faces the truth
will she retain the joy of youth?

The Special Ones tell Luralei
her talents could not pass them by.
When she dances, the earth sings
animals gather, beauty springs.

Can the Special Ones use this
in a way where she would choose this?

When Lauralei sings, the earth can hear
creatures far away come near.
If she tried, she could speak
to beasts with fur, scales or beak.

Has she ever guessed
her talent or her quest?

Lauralei pales white as the moon
too much information too soon.
She pleads for time, but they make her hurry
a trail to talk to things that scurry.

Can Lauralei deal with the news
and keep from power abuse?
