Broken Promises

You promised your love.

You promised you’d stay.

You told me that you

would never go away.

You swore of a love

that would last forever.

To stop loving me

you would never.

 

But now I see

it was all a lie!

You are just the same

as every other guy.

You say things that

you don’t really mean.

Then hide the fib

where it can’t be seen.

 

Broken promises,

they are so cruel.

Once I see the truth,

I feel like such a fool.

Never again will I

want to trust.

After all finding love

isn’t really a must.

Hurts like hell doesn't it when promises of love aren't kep? Sadly there are the rats out there, before the prince's come along. Good news is, there are prince's of men. Don't despair, don't give up but Do take your time. Enjoyed your write and baby will relate to the broken promises.

Another wonderful poem, Gwen. You always seem to be able to pour your heart in to creating these wonderful tellings. It's fluent, beautifully written, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people can relate to this one way or another. It's very sad, too, and creates a strong sense of sympathy to all who've suffered through a bad relationship. Loved it
