My SlopeA Poem by Dilan Gray3/22/11
It would be so easy
to give up hope. I'm plumeting down a slippery slope. Sure it sends me up once in a while, but the brief lift just feeds my denial. That little bump in the slope only lasts so long, scared of heights, I welcome the fall that must be so wrong. But I'm used to the fall, it's been my path for years. I'm used to the loneliness. I'm comfortable with the tears. So I continue to fall, waiting to hit the ground. When I do I won't get up, I won't go another round. Maybe that's why my decent never ends, because I'm not quite ready to leave my family and friends. © 2011 Dilan GrayReviews
