Scent of the Mediterranean

Scent of the Mediterranean

A Poem by pinkasylum
"

The hypnotic ancient world

"

Invisible passages to an ancient forgotten world

melodious prancing camels hailed, and gracefully bejeweled

moroccan flavored flutes wailing from the distant forbidden city

cloaked sand dwellers mysterious in hidden hilltop adobes

alluring dark women standing sultry at the open door of aniquity

silhouettes weaving through slits of light from dipped crested moondrops

like dancing fire snakes, winding in the blistering Sahara tombs

swords and secrets long buried beneath the soft white arabian dunes
