A Poem by solsystemtillnervsystem

Hello to you, goodbye to me

You’re going to make me a victim.

You can take it all from me. It’s yours.

My life, my home, my heart;

take it, take it, take it all

Drown me in stolen gifts and alcohol

Frighten me, you always frighten me

with ropes and chains and smiles

to make butter melt.

I know what you did.

But I can’t let you go.

They’ve asked me to.

Told me to.

I’ve lost friends and lovers

and family, all thanks to you

I could have it all back if I left

If I ran from you

but I can’t.

I can't.

You're more me than I am,

and I'm more you.

I gave up the bottle,

but you're my real addiction.

You and only you, always.

Hello to you, goodbye to me.

You’ve gone and made me a victim.

I love you all the same.
