Silent, I wishA Poem by Picture of PoetrySome people are more than what they seem...I wish you could see, behind the lies, at what truely lives, behind my eyes. The happy girl, you see so clear, silently screams, behind invisible tears. I smile and laugh, when people can see, but sit and weep, when it's just me. I wish you could see, behind my mask, I wish that someone, would just come out and ask. Ask me for the truth, the story with no lies, tell me it's o.k., that you'll stand by my side. So much dark pain, swims in my heart. The road so blurry, I can't see where to start. I wish you could see, past my smile, so mild, look deep in my heart, and see the lost child. I'm wrapped in fear, and my body is so sick, I want to break free of these chains, so thick. "But I can't!" I say, "Not all alone, I need a friend to help me, get past this milestone." © 2009 Picture of PoetryAuthor's Note
