My last look...

My last look...

A Poem by Picture of Poetry
"

What would the world look like to you if you were about to go blind?

"

My last look,

before I fell into the darkness,

the world looked very beautiful.

I took a walk down the same country road,

I walked everyday to the mercantile.

It was all so beautiful.

The dirt road was a golden walkway.

The birds were dancing with one another.

The sky was as blue as m ocean eyes,

and the field of grass an emerald green crop.

The flowers smelled so sweet,

and the rays from the sun were hugging me.

The breeze was so soft.

The clouds were different shapes.

That was my last look before I fell into the darkness.

Just for you to know, the setting is in the 1890's and in the country (south), but still read it, and give me your honset opinion. Please and thank you.

It must be truly terrifying to know that you're about to go blind, especially when you live in such a beautiful area as the one that you described! I love the lines "The dirt road was a golden walkway. / The birds were singing to one another. / The sky was as blue as m ocean eyes," Great use of color! (Although I suppose they'd still be able to hear the birds singing? It doesn't matter, great description regardless XD) ^__^

I thoroughly enjoyed your most original theme presented in well written descriptive poetic prose.

I am very deaf so to lose my sight would be catastrophic
