My heart

My heart

A Poem by Picture of Poetry

Oh, how my heart is barren.

An emptyness, and hollow area

sinks deeper and deeper with in me.

Shall it ever rise from its depths of darkness and dismay?

Shall I?

Shall it ever glow and glisten in the light

of "the one" ever again?

Shall I?

It has been stolen and snached from my weak and frail grasp.

But the theif never returns it better than when they stole it!

It is always returned broken and shattered into a million peices.

It has almost given up on love as I have.

This is my heart,

where hope is the key, and the lock on the door.

Very melancholy, and a wonderful description of a broken heart. You portray sadness without sounding cliche or over-the-top, which is very refreshing! Great job! =)

Who's the guy? :)

Nicely written, and I liked the message, Poetry. Bring on some more poems.
