Let Me Be MeA Poem by Heather MariaThis is actually a song that I wrote.Let Me Be Me So many expectation, Gotta live by my reputation. What to do and who to be, Why can’t they let me be me. They Stereotype for the way I
dress, But I’m not looking to
impress. I’m tired of sticking to the
regulations, On what to do and who to be. They’re gonna start letting
me be me. They’re not gonna live their
lives through me. I’m not going to be stuck in
yesterday, Watching all my dreams slip
away.
Too many times I’ve worn my
heart on my sleeve Too many times I’ve needed
superman to rescue me Too many nights I’ve lied
awake trying to undo my past mistakes! What to do, who to be, It’s
my time so let me be me! © 2012 Heather MariaAuthor's Note
