Call for a good time

Call for a good time

A Poem by Tan-90

It costs so little, a meal, a drink
A small thoughtful gift perhaps.
You ring, I pick up, before we know it-
In to the back seat of a taxi we collapse.

“How are you?”, I ask guzzling my drink
“F*****g fantastic!” you say with a faint smile
You think your technicolor glasses hide the sadness in your eyes
I see through your lie, but let us pretend for a longer while.

Laughter fills the night, we toast to life
“Good times” keep rolling off the line
I know you’re hurting and your bones are tired
But I for one, did not come here to pine.

You step outside for the cool night air
I see thoughts ready to unburden at the tip of your tongue
I lean in for a kiss so you can swallow your words
Grab my hand, let us go in and have some more fun.

The day is breaking and our bodies are aching
Time to part ways on a high
I love you but I cannot be there for you
But you can always call me for a good time...
