The space betweenA Poem by Tan-90
It is as thin as a sheet of paper,
Translucent, yet brimming with silvery light. Pulses like a war drum call to arms, Crackles with mocking and mischievous delight. Its call is maddening and seductive, To be explored and conquered, it beckons. But it entraps and suffocates trespassers, With smog that foams and thickens. It allows glances to permeate, But whether words get through unscathed is uncertain. Rudderless thoughts ricochet in its deep waters, Will they ever reach a shore to unburden? Forcefully protective of its bearer, But who cast this veil into existence is unknown. Is it the alchemy of one heart that casts these shadows? Or the fears of two minds set in stone? © 2024 Tan-90 |
