Another Life

Another Life

A Poem by Tan-90

The lines on your face
As your lips curved to a smile
The glimmer in your eyes
As you thoughts turned guile
I had a weakness for
...In another life

The warmth of your spirit
As our bodies touched
Kisses so tender
As I our souls clutched
I hungered for
...In another life

Singing sweet songs
As the earth went around the sun
Whispering softly dreams
As about the earth, the moon spun
I pined for
...In another life

The games we played
As we gambled our existence away
The rebellion the missions
As we joined the fray
I feared I feared so
...In another life

The haste the arrogance
As life served lemons bitter
The pain the hardship
As we fought for love sweeter
I loathed but I prayed
...In another life

The tears the soreness
As the battles drew to an end
The sighs the relief's
As the shoulders were free to lend
Goodbyes farewells
..In another life

To greet and wish well
As ourselves wiser and older
Not to wonder or lose sleep
As you drift away further
To think I was in love.. love so
But it was ...In another life

I felt the touching sadness and the overwhelming desires. Another life is anticipated tremendously in this poem with glimmers of hope.

This would be the ultimate tribute to someone whom you dearly love. It inspired me to write a little gift song-poem of you own using many of your words which you may do with as you like. Every line is in 0/1/0/1/0/1 six syllable meter to make it sing: I placed it in the present tense, and made it into a proposal. Sing along:

Proposal

Those curved lines on your face
when your lips form a smile,
that glimmer in your eyes
as you hide all your guile

in every time and place
would bring me to my knees
in lives that came before.
So darling, darling please
be mine forevermore.
