remember me

remember me

A Poem by Worms
"

for I am like you

"

I need to tell them something

but I know not what to say

the critics now are saying

I have no part in this play

I may not have an impact

but my story must be told

not just placed upon a rack

a thing to ponder when I'm old

I may not know what to do

but that will not stop me now

I will prove my worth to you

the only question is how

shall I write or shall I sing

it doesn't really matter

I don't care about anything

I am as mad as the hatter

but I will do what must be done

I will find what I do best

and as long as we have fun

who cares about the rest

you and I are two of a kind

we are our best together

but I am sure that you will find

that we are bound by no earthly tether

you have your choice before you

I cannot sway your iron will

but there is one thing that I can do

I would have you take my fill

I have had few friends before

and most have gone away

I cannot take this anymore

you will not lead me astray

I will stay straight upon my course

wherever I may be forced to go

and while I will feel remorse

the wind for me will always blow

the bearing it gives is what I must take

I must stay ahead of the growing storm

a few friends have been lost in my wake

but more are waiting for me ashore

I wish that we could stay together

but my efforts would be in vain

to think you could stay with me forever

why that would be very insane

and so I continue my lonely trip

waiting for the dark of night

whenever you go and leave my ship

please remember my flight

remeber me

for I am like you

We always want to be remembered life is like a move were stuck with the part but we can always change the script, I like how you tell this story with the need to be remembered before the final scene.
Excellent write.

This was a cool journey of self discovery.
I enjoyed the thoughtful nature of this poem.
You placed a lot of emphasis on finding one's
own way. Nice job.

I so-loved these lines here. This is a wonderful write. I like the rhyme scheme and amazing flow. Well done!
