Heavy My BurdensA Poem by PhotochickRelational metaphoric poem with an uplifting twist.
Eyelids droop and arms hang like cow tails
They are too heavy to lift Heavy my burden. Woeful my heart Lids snap high and large wet eyes dash back and forth Arms swat wildly at the problems on my back like flies Sloshing through muck and mire, through all this bullshit Finally I drag myself toward the green grasses A nice meal Some relaxation with a nightlight of stars and a lush verdant blanket to cushion a weary body Tomorrow I will pick up my sorrows and my strife They feel cumbersome and oppressive But I remember that my green pasture awaits as I trudge along © 2017 PhotochickAuthor's Note
