One KissA Poem by PhotochickStory of a memory, a relationship that ended before it started.A fuzzy memory glitters into some clarity More a feeling remembered than actual detail The feeling of sparkling romance That first touch of someone new A dream of what could be, if circumstances were different
An introduction to something new An evolution of something familiar to something electric Doused by an immediate goodbye
One kiss, one embrace, all over Two paths, divergent directions Years go by
One sentence One response Things unsaid Things remembered
One formal contact One response with sharp detail Only a hint of the impact implied Things are different Life has changed But a memory is shared
One photo, innocent friends Connected by a year of laughter and smiles Months of friendly support, a hint of flirtation Neither thinking anything was there
An unexpected burst of emotion Fear that the connection would be lost Navy men belong to Uncle Sam Been there, done that
Flooded with a need for an appropriate expression An expression of friendship, connection and goodbye A glimpse at something that might have been but wasn't meant to be What would be meaningful? What would be remembered?
A lingering kiss Previously unexpressed passion A suprise to me and to you Over in moments Goodbye
Years passed Impact unknown Paths crossed Conversations of shared moments
Memory rushes in Words expressed years later Level of impact expressed Flushed face, flattered laugher Grins abound
A simple kiss, a simple embrace To put on life's highlight reel Life goes on
