Metastasizing MaladyA Poem by phoenix on the risesuffering of diseasesIt burns through me like fire, Hurting the healthy and punishing the weak. It sticks around on some occasions, and then spreads to my friends. It takes the functions i thought i didn't need, and removes the ones i can't do without. There go the things i treasured above all, and there go the things i never learned to love. There goes my breathing and there goes my blood. There goes my thinking and there goes my heart. It captures my body and ensnares it with death, leaving nothing but forgotten memories and wasted regret. It can be beaten and just left to perish. But then it just returns, to kill with a stronger edge. Time to say goodbye I guess To those I loved and heald dear. For this terminl malady has taken me, and left me with nothing to fear.
