Your Sunrise

Your Sunrise

A Poem by Zephyr
"

A poem written for someone I love very much.

"

When I saw the sunrise today, I knew that you were gone.

After your fierce struggle, after life's injsutice to you,

you finally gave way to eternity.

Amid all the pink and gold and sweetness of the morning,

There was a single spark on the misty horizon, set apart

From the quiet glory of the dawn.

I knew you were getting your wings.

And I knew you would be one of those angels

That would never fall from grace.

This seems like its about the death of someone young...

"and left to join your grandfather"

it seems that if it was someone older then it would be with your mother/father. The last stanza also made me think you were addressing someone who is still quite young. Either way it's really sad!

Nicely written, finally not a morbid view on death and dying, something that makes us think the person who died would now be in peace.

Wow, I really loved this piece! I'm sure everyone thinks of loved one's who have passed, and this is what they imagine.

I knew you were getting your wings.
And I knew you would be one of those angels
That would never fall from grace.

A beautiful take on the finality of death in juxtaposition with the beauty and the "beginning" of sunrise. I'm glad you chose to relate death with "sunrise" as opposed to "sunset"...it gives a fresh perspective on the write. I think the feeling here was beautiful and very emotional. My only suggestion is that the flow might be helped a bit if the first stanza was broken up a little with some shorter lines...just a thought. Overall..nicely done.
