Resurrection

Resurrection

A Poem by Phoenix

Like the Phoenix I am risen
From the ashes of the grave
To climb again that mountain
And live among the brave

To sing my song of victory
And wail my battle cry
To gather arms and win the fight
Therein redemption lies

But like the mighty Phoenix
With wings spread all ablaze
The fire that ignites my heart
Burns but for numbered days.

When fire my pain quenches
And I return to dust
I'll lie in wait for later date
When resurrect I must

Although I am not a poet (I have tried but I am hopeless at it) I really liked this piece. I thought there was great atmosphere to it and a real heartiness, in essence it felt genuine .
