A Poem by phjasmine
"

about my birth mother

"

Thank you mother

You taught me the best of ways,

You taught me to leave the ones who love me

And never love anybody who I can’t get money from,

To lie my way out of everything

And cheat at everything I do,

You taught me it’s ok to sell my body

And what they do is alright,

You never laid a hand on me

And yet I still feel the pain,

How could you of done this to me

My own flesh and blood,

I cry myself to sleep at night

Because no one understands me,

I see no future for myself

And no happy ending,

Things are just going to get worse for me

As you come back into my life,

And to make matters more confusing

You went and got yourself a ‘wife’,

You taught me pain

You taught me abandonment,

You taught me sorrow

And how to see no happy tomorrow,

You tried to suffocate me

Within all your lies,

But the secret of life is

To watch as it goes sailing by.
