Packages Delivered

Two packages were placed on my doorstep today

They come in the mail in the usual way

I wonder what their content should be

So I would bring them inside to open and see

One package is heavy, wide and tall

The other was light and appeared very small

Which one should be first, a question I’d ask?

While looking at both I’d reflect on the task

I receive packages everyday

They are always delivered in the same way

The deliverer’s address is the same for just some

And to my address they always come

Not ordering anything to be delivered by mail

Why are the packages coming without fail?

Why are they placed at my doorstep to lie?

The contents within I never would buy

I tried to return them once in the mail

But back to me they come without fail

At first I would open all that did come

Now tiring of this I open only some

Some packages contain things I’ll never use

Others contain things I’d never choose

How can I stop them placed at the door?

Can’t they tell I do not need any more?

But always they come each day without fail

Except Sunday I’m free because there’s no mail

Should I expect this for the rest of my life?

Why did I give my credit card to my wife?
