Madness Returns

Madness Returns

A Poem by nigrum homonculus
"

based off the game alice: madness returns. i'll write another one of these in on the same subject. i enjoy it.

"

The tea cups, they float.

In the baby blue sky.

Sitting on top of island of granite

Weightless giants in the distance.

The woods,dark and evergreen.

The path remains twisted.

Cheshire cat guides me,

Well…he insisted.

But the deeper I go

The more yellow eyes glow,

In the dark in-between the trees.

Their gaze pressed against my cheek.

A vorpal blade,

A pepper grinder

I’m not here to fight

I’m here to murder.

Murder the thoughts,

that plague my mind.

murder the guilt

that wasted my time.

You really showed the true darkness of Alice, that many Disney productions have forgotten! It gives an sumbliminal message that everyone has two sides to them and that innocent, pure looks can be full of deceit. The off rhyme adds a sense of magic, if you like. Almost as if the chesire cat's eyes are enchanting and mesmerising Alice to the point where she cannot control her own mind. A good, symbolistic journey.

I do enjoy this. Very well played. Took me right back to the storyline, with a little different perspective. A darker Alice. Well done.
