Edge of the earth

this is inspired by another one of the songs on my profile page. this was back and forth, rewriting and editing. just glad i got it out. again tried to mess with the imagery a bit in this.

I sit here, kicking my dangling feet.

The view from the edge of the earth

 has made me feel immortal.

 

welcomed by comets,

darting across the horizon.

i feel at peace with the atmosphere.

so silent you can hear your heart beat,

in unison with the explosions of the fallen stars.

distant cries of a lost life

but to pave a path

for the descendants to follow.

The cosmos itself has granted me an audience.

The stars keep watch so I don’t fall.

I wish I could keep this moment forever.

 

With everything behind me.

I look towards the unknown.

Certain of its opportunities.
