one day

one day

A Poem by nigrum homonculus
"

i'm pretty scared of death. I've lost some friends this year and the last. but its inevitable and i will meet them again. a positive thought on a grim reality.

"

One day, my lungs will give way.

My heart will stop,

My hands will drop.

One day, I will merge with the ground.

Sleeping in the soil,

Forever lost not found.

One day, no light will touch me.

Darkness will engulf,

My soul cold and lonely.

Or one day,

I’ll ascend.

Return to my friends,

And because of this,

i will not fear,

what fate intends.

This is incredible. The repetition works well, and the rhyming is brilliantly done. I'd aspire to write something like this.

The change from the depressing beginning to the meaningful ending is superb! My favorite of your pieces so far!
