another life lost

a guy called darrien hunt got killed by a cop while he was cosplaying.....like THE F**K?!

another black teen shot by a cops.

families ruined by one guys hunch.

how much mourning must there be

in order for this injustice to cease.

my very body shivers at the slightest thought

someones out there about to get shot,

because a misunderstanding escalated 

and now another life is terminated. 

the victim was dressing up for f**k sake

wielding a sword that was blatantly fake

going home after a day at comicon

is that a reason to rob a man of his son?

i swear to god this needs to stop

gun slinging isn't part of the job.

quit the clint eastwood act

You would think the human race could raise itself above something like this and prevent this from happening? It is always sad whenever a life is lost for whatever the reason. Sadder still, when the reason doesn't make any real sense. It seems as if the world has tilted in a very strange, sad, scary direction with no one knowing how to put it right again.
You poem is strong, and has a strong voice that I hope, will never be silenced.

I am not fond of the Police. From one cop to the next is one thing. We have to judge people as individuals and I am aware of the important function a police force plays in a society but as an institution, I am not a fan of law enforcement. This is a good poem and it does stand on it's own. Good work my friend.
