st lucia

st lucia

A Poem by nigrum homonculus
"

poem about a tattoo on my arm. i would post a pic but i don't have any descent ones of it right now PLUS it don't look very angelic as she looks mad. go figure.

"
no mortal woman can come close to her beauty and her grace,
even if the pagans gouged her eyes out of her face.

a true saint and example of how to practice faith
even when her very life was needlessly at stake.

although she died a painful death one thing is for certain
this tragic death was not in vein, god granted ascension.

now her eyes are made of diamonds, beauty that's unmatched
st Lucia is a prime example that life's not always bad.

Touching story of redemption and I'm almost curious as to what the original tattoo was. One mistake though, "vein" in the third stanza should be spelled "vain", because they're different terms with different meanings. Nonetheless, a very intriguing and inspiring write. Well done!
