this is inspired by a song called ramirez performed by acacia strain. i thought of the cold war and its napalm strikes, and every one involved in it. must of been a tough time. soldier and civi alike.

I think you meant the Vietnam War which was a hot spot in the cold war. Napalm was first used on the Japanese dropped from B29 bombers on Japan's wooden cities and the carnage was tremendous. It was a controversial weapon in Vietnam though used extensively on suspected vc villages and strong holds. The UN has a world wide ban on the weapon so in Iraq US forces used white phosphorus weapons instead. White phosphorus or wp has the same effect as napalm and it was just as psychologically terrifying to haji as napalm was to the vietnames. We used to do strikes we called "shake and bake" that were a combination of white phosphorus ordinance and high explosives. Usually in the form of mortar rounds or shoulder launching rockets. Shake and bake strikes were f**k brutal and left no survivors dehind and if haji thought we were about to launch one he would drop his weapons and run away fast as his little feet could carry him.
