Ice cold

a silent frozen lake.

Peaceful

Serene.

 

And then you came along

 

Breaking the ice

my eyes glued to you.

Pandemonium ensued

As I tried to organise my thoughts

Figuring out what to say

Without sounding so dumb.

How can you do this to me?

You barely even know me

Yet my palms are sweaty

My heartbeat is heavy

Thumping rapidly

This can’t be healthy.

Yet you smile at my failing composure

Laugh at my non existent confidence

And just…walk away.

Having had many crushes on many girls ranging from 10 seconds to ten years I relate to this very well. "How can you do this to me, you barely even no me." that's great. I had a co-worker a couple of years back I went out of my mind over the second I met her. God she was adorable. I can't even remember her name now. Nothing happened. She was about ten years younger than me and had some boy friend she was obssesed with but man did she drive me crazy. Just like in your poem save the serene part. Serene is something I have never been.
