upon the new padA Poem by Philip CosteaThe freshness of a new setting Settles slow like smoke into thin air. I haven’t been able to taste this new place with rested eyes yet. Everything’s “This will look good…once we touch it up a bit”. I’m not so concerned about that. Maybe not terribly. But what about our permanent home? The one where we take our shoes off at the front door and leave them there forever. Where steam and cilantro garnish the air and you were deft enough to bring a conversation of praise for the evening’s ceremony. At some point the company, the arrangement will all blend together and you’ll remember this is what home should feel like.
