I wrote this a long time ago, but with a few edits, it almost looks presentable.

In the darkness of the night
Not a star does shine in sight
Without hope, filled with plight
It is in this silence that we fly

Through this cold and bitter air
Filled with longing, alone we roam
Seeking, hoping, we wish to find
A place to call forever home

Alas, Fate is unmercifully cruel
For in this tale we are the fools
Whatever we wish, wherever we search
Never will we find a ledge to perch

Tired and beaten, still we try
Fly through shadow, look for light
Till we drop like angels from on high
Into darkness of the forever night

...And there we lie,
never again to fly,

together
we
die…
