Lay Me Down

Lay Me Down

A Poem by pheasant

I was wondering what kind of line
Might evoke some piece of mind
And bring it to the fore
Without a chance to bore

I was tickling my own toes
Just itching for how it goes
As my mood would not pin down
Any one or other sound

A resolution must be made
The thought revealed would turn the page
So simple it should be
Yet different, not me

I called upon a midnight hour
Dusting clean shelves of latent power
As sleepy sounds began their roll
And dragging down my mustered goal

The time was ticking my body clock
My rhyme was missing with shoddy stock
So I resolved to lay me down
To later solve this lazy noun

You know I suffer from mania at times, and when I am coming down I long for sleep so bad, it seems it is the only thing that can bring me peace. Sleep is a treasure for those who never tire, at times it seems like a constant desire, but when my eyelids close I live inside my dreams...

Chaotic boredom resulting in mental unrest ... a feeling that I would associate with a writers' block when there are just too many thoughts in your head and you cannot find how to write them down the way you would like too .. I know this ... apart from writers block also this feeling can come from various reasons .. You have expressed this very nicely .. this poem needs just a bit more polish to be perfect .
Nice write :)

there is great meaning in the term sleep on it .. many answers awaken in the light of a new day ( sorry for the cliche fest )
