I take a deep breath of the cool, clean mountain air 'Fore choppin' some kindlin' & fixin' the morning fire A gusting breeze billowing by Shuffles the treetops from side to side A jackrabbit darts from bush to bush While bluejays cackle at passers by
By mid-day the sun burns down bright As I kick off the boots and head for the creek Looking more like a river, so deep and crystal I climb up the nearest house-sized boulder Leaping out into the open air... ...! ! ! S P L A S H ! ! !...
This is for me, a happy poem... maybe living in the 'sticks' is the place to be..
Your images make me long to be standing on a mountain where the air is cool and clean.. not so here where I live.
A hard day's work is good for a body and the body deserves a Splash into cool clear water.
A happy poem..
Wow! Very nice... I have never been on a mountain, but it has always been my dream. I always want to go out and explore mother nature; island hopping, cycling, spelunking, mountain climbing, etc.
Thanks to your poem, by simply reading it, I felt like I too have gone there standing, listening to the wind as it whispers on my ears :)

This is such a great outlet for so many... I'm here to share, make meaningful connections, and delve a little deeper into the creative flow. I know writing to be a tool and a gift, that can help us in.. more..
