Cool, Clear Night

Cool, Clear Night

A Poem by pheasant
"

my first poem

"
I stand here thinking on a cool, clear night
Admiring the stars with a thing called sight
I stand among people on a planet called Earth
Looking out at the heavens for a new sense of worth

This is one of my first pieces done while contemplating the night sky several years ago... in one of the chilliest parts of the country... Minnesota.

As I read this I was thinking how we take so many things for granted.. like sight.
The poem is short and sweet as some have said ... but the poem has a meaning and a lesson.. plus it has a cool clear night filled with stars.. stars are a little magical to me.. wishing upon a star, ect. Sounds like a beautiful place to look at stars.
We all inhabit this Earth and we should always look for a new sense of worth.

When you look out into the vast universe with truly open eyes you can see the endless possibilities.

There is a greater sight than any of us know. Looking around at the unaware people of what this life has given us. Sometimes people just need to slow down and pay attention to all their surroundings. Maybe then we could have a time of peace.

I think we learn a lot from time spent in observation and thinking. There is much to be admired out there, and seeing what is around us gives us great perspective and a feeling of belonging...that is what I see in your poem.

Wow that was good. So short, yet can hold so much meaning. shows length doesnt make the piece.
