A DEVIL'S ODE TO AN ANGELA Poem by phantomquillAwarded Honorable mention in Your Best Gothic Poetry ContestO where azure hides from me! Yearning for concealed gleaming light; Tired of dwelling in this horrendous lair, Abyss of rotten lives that stinks. With much regret have I exist, Desires to shatter my thick-skinned horn; My sharply nails and killer fangs, And tails and scales hath I loathe. If this mien hinders thee, To love a ferocious brute like me; Milady, close thy eyes and listen to my heart, Superficial is gratuitous, what matters is the inside. I'd climb at dyke-back, Ingine abscond to inferno; Beseech the unicorn for a ride, And wait thou there at heaven's egress. My race, my fiere impeding thee, Hath shackled me, halter my abode; They're up against this odd amour, Two antipodal worlds flaming archenemies. I'll fetch for thou 'till I swoon, And ding the odds how rigorous it maybe; I'll bide for thou at heaven's egress, Just to espy thou fair-haired sightlines.
